Turning the paper redraws the sheet
The drawing is not rotated. Every measurement is taken afresh from the width and the height of the paper, so turning A4 means the seven columns share 297 mm instead of 210, and the five or six week rows share 210 instead of 297. A day cell stops being a tall box and becomes a wide shallow one.
That changes what the cell is for. A wide shallow cell suits a line of writing running across the day; a tall narrow one suits a stack of short notes. It is also why the ruled lines sit closer together in landscape: the same number of them divide less height.
The several-months sheet transposes rather than reshaping. Three months stand in a column in portrait and in a row when the paper is turned; twelve go three across and four down in portrait, four across and three down turned; four come out two by two either way. The week sheet keeps its seven bands and makes each of them wider and shallower.
Printing it
A4 landscape is 297 × 210 mm and Letter landscape is 11 × 8.5 inches. The page box in the PDF already records which way round you set the paper, and most drivers follow it, but one held firmly to portrait will shrink the sheet to fit rather than turn it — so if the result comes out small in the middle of the paper, that is the setting to look at.
Print at 100%. The PNG and the SVG carry the same drawing, but neither of them has a page box for a driver to read.
