A workbook, not a picture of one
The dates arrive as numbers sitting in cells. A formula elsewhere in the workbook can point at one, a cell can be filled with colour, a column can be widened — none of which is true of a calendar that reaches a spreadsheet as an image.
The layout is deliberate. A title row, a blank row, the weekday names, and then the weeks in pairs: a row of dates and, under it, an empty row seven cells wide to write in. Days belonging to the months either side are left out rather than filled in, so what is in the sheet is the month you asked for and nothing else.
Set the bench to twelve months before you take the file and the workbook comes out as twelve grids stacked down one worksheet, each headed with its own month and year.
Nothing else is styled. No borders, no fills, no fonts chosen, only the column widths — so the file arrives plain and your own formatting has nothing to argue with.
Printing it
A workbook has no page box of its own. Whatever paper you put it on, the spreadsheet application decides the margins and where the grid breaks, so set its scaling to one page wide before printing anything.
If what you want is paper at a stated size, the PDF is the file that carries the box: A4 at 210 × 297 mm, Letter at 8.5 × 11 inches, printed at 100% rather than fit to page. The workbook is the one to work in; the PDF is the one for the wall.
