The squarest month of the year
Twenty-eight days beginning on a Sunday and ending on a Saturday make the tidiest sheet of 2026. On a Sunday-start grid the month fills four rows and stops: no blanks before the 1st, none after the 28th. No other month in the year does that.
Start the week on Monday and the tidiness goes. The same twenty-eight days then need five rows, with empty cells at both ends. This is the clearest illustration on the site of what the start-day setting actually does to a sheet.
February 2026 is also the only month of the year in which no weekday falls five times, and at twenty working days it is the shortest working month of the twelve. It is not a leap February. There is no 29th on this sheet.
Printing it
Four rows on the same sheet of paper means deeper boxes than any other month of 2026 gets. If you write in the squares by hand, this is the month with room to do it.
Print at 100% rather than fit-to-page. The PDF carries a real page box, so A4 comes out at 210 × 297 mm and Letter at 8.5 × 11 inches; A4 is a little narrower and a little taller than Letter, which is why a sheet built for one and scaled to the other never quite sits right.
