A year that hands back the day it started on

365 days is fifty-two weeks with one day left over, so a common year finishes on the weekday it opened with. 2026 begins on a Thursday and ends on a Thursday, and that spare day pushes 2027 along to a Friday.

The ISO week count runs to 53 rather than the more usual 52. If you turn the week-number column on, the numbering carries one week further than it does in most years, which matters if those numbers are going to be quoted at anyone.

Two months of 2026 spill into a sixth row of weeks when the week starts on Sunday: May and August. Every panel on this sheet is cut to six rows regardless, so all twelve print at one size and the shorter months leave a little space at the foot of their box. Starting the week on Monday changes which months take the sixth row. On a Monday start it is March, August and November that take the sixth row — three months rather than two, and only August is on both lists.

Three Fridays on a thirteenth

February, March and November each carry one. The first two come as a pair because February has 28 days in a common year, which is exactly four weeks: March opens on the same weekday February did and repeats its whole pattern of dates.

Printing it

On portrait paper the twelve panels stand three across and four down; turning the sheet gives four across and three down. A4 is 210 × 297 mm and Letter is 8.5 × 11 inches, and the PDF carries the page box, so print at 100% rather than fit to page and the sheet comes out the size it says.

The whole drawing is black and greys with nothing filled in behind it, so a mono printer gives the same result as a colour one.
