Six rows, whichever way the week starts
Thirty-one days that open on a Saturday and close on a Monday will not fold into five rows. January 2028 takes six on a Sunday-start grid and six on a Monday-start one, so moving the first column changes the shape of the sheet without changing its height.
Ten of those 31 days fall at the weekend, and Saturday, Sunday and Monday each come round five times. That leaves 21 weekdays. If you are ruling the sheet up for something that repeats weekly, three of the columns carry an extra entry.
Six rows over a fixed page height makes for shallow boxes. It is worth knowing before you print, because it is the difference between writing two lines in a box and writing one.
Printing it
The PDF carries a real page box, so a sheet that says A4 comes out as A4, 210 × 297 mm, and a sheet that says Letter comes out at 8.5 × 11 inches. Send it at 100% rather than fit to page. Fit to page scales the whole sheet down to clear the printer’s own margins, and on a six-row month that comes straight out of the box depth.
Where the week numbers land
Numbered by ISO week, January 2028 begins in week 52 and ends in week 5, so the count turns over inside the month rather than at its edge. That opening 52 belongs to 2027, not 2028. An ISO week is numbered in the year containing its Thursday, and the week this month opens in has its Thursday in December — so the sheet starts in one year’s count and ends in another’s.
