Five rows or six, depending on the first column
October 2028 begins on a Sunday. If the week on your sheet begins on a Sunday as well, the month starts flush in the top-left box, with no blank boxes ahead of it, and the 31 days fold into five rows.
Set the week to begin on a Monday and the same month needs six. That first Sunday is pushed to the far end of the opening row, where it sits by itself, and everything behind it moves along by a column until the month runs over into a sixth row.
The month closes on a Tuesday. Sunday, Monday and Tuesday each come round five times, 9 of the 31 days fall at the weekend and 22 are weekdays. The sheet spans ISO weeks 39 to 44.
Five rows against six over the same page height is a real difference in box depth, and on a 31-day month it is the difference between comfortable writing room and not much. October opens the fourth quarter and is the tenth sheet of the year.
Printing it
Decide which grid you want before you print rather than after, because the two versions are not the same height and a set of sheets that changes shape halfway through looks wrong on a wall. Then send the file at 100%: the PDF carries a real page box, A4 at 210 × 297 mm or Letter at 8.5 × 11 inches, and true size is what makes the printed grid measurable.
